![]() ![]() Yvaine’s heart is symbolic as it is targeted by the evil of Stormhold, for its value and power. Unicorns are usually perceived as innocent and pure creatures, just like the character of Yvaine. It is saved from cruelty by Yvaine and reflects her. The unicorn is what connects Yvaine and Tristran. As he grows and becomes more confident and bolder, his clothing changes as well, from a shabby overcoat to a confident crimson attire. Tristran’s clothing is a symbolic representation of his change of character and growth. He could be seen as a meeting point of the two worlds, a possibility of connection. Tristran is a character that is able to walk through both worlds. The wall separates the two worlds, the supernatural and the ordinary. The wall is symbolic in it that it separates the town Wall from the world of Faerie.
